Here are a few things that can help you make your first page. Start by looking at other pages. After you generate a list that you like, look at them for specific elements you like in order to incorporate them on your page. Try to maintain a similarity between all your pages. This helps keep a more uniform appearance to your pages and also lets the user know where they're at. Use easy navigation. Generally it is a good idea to maintain a constant series of links on everypage. For example, we have a set of links on the left of this page as the "Main Menu." This makes navigation for the user a lot easier and helps the general aesthetic of the page. Try to use a common color scheme. Use colors to match a page's overall mood. For example, pink and yellow wouldn't have been good color choices for this page. When making your page, make sure you save your first page as index.html.
