Clearing Out Temporary Internet Files |
Internet Explorer will save websites to a computer so that they will open faster, and over time those files will take up a large amount of space on the machine. Clearing them out will help free up some hard drive space on the computer.
To clear the Temporary Internet Files out, open Internet Explorer and:
- Click 'Tools', and then 'Internet Options'
- In the center, click 'Delete Cookies', and then 'OK'
- Click 'Delete Files', check 'Delete All Offline Content', then 'OK'
- Click 'OK' at the bottom of Internet Options
You can also decrease the amount of space that Internet Explorer uses to store these files. By clicking the 'Settings' button under the 'Internet Properties', you can use the slider bar to adjust how much space Internet Explorer is allowed to use.
